cocoon

cocoon

A Poem by Ben

Is it bad to say that I love you? Even if I don't mean to come off so strong.
Is it worse because you don't even know,
Or is it worse because you do, and still remember who you are.
I can watch you from the distance, and never pay more attention to anything else on earth.
If you were mine there wouldn't even be an earth, just you, and I,
Everything else would just exist.
Because when I see you, it is only you I see.
They say love is blind, but your love is blinding-
Suddenly I become oblivious.
My heart races, my mind goes blank; this is when I only think of you.
My other half is still unaware.
Because in church I was told "God has a plan for you, he has a person made for each of us, waiting."
One day you might hopefully realize, and when that day comes I will literally drop the worlds weight to the floor.
Beautiful, I can call you many flattering things-
Everything but "mine".
You are as charming as a butterfly, so why are you still in your cocoon?
