war

war

A Poem by Beren

Hemingway is waiting on my doorstep
With an unused baby shoe

I couldn't kill the bug in my room
Because maybe it is Kafka

I had to broke up with Fyodor
Cause he was gambling
and hell knows i am not Anna

I didn't finish the book
So Ivan doesn't die
Not because i tried

i already living in 1984
i am looking for peace in which war?

I love all these famous writers you mention, connected to various regimes and wars in history....I have read some of these...and I like the way 1984's prediction of what the world would be like then....also read a lot of Hemingway....and his various wives...the whole poem just bring back moments of fear in me, as per current wars and the chaos in the world at this moment....well done!

"soldier of peace"
Hearing this from you means a lot! Thank you
one war after another...never true peace for any length of time.
I love this piece...and the reference to Hemingway with unused baby shoe is creative.

Ahh thank you so much sir! Glad you catched that! Love your reviews
had to look up Fyodor and Anna ( the online comment said they were besotted with one another so then had to look up besotted ) - see how much your poem taught me - I got the Kafka bug not because I have read it but because one of our sons is well read. enjoyed the tongue in cheek but honest approach to war. What is it good for? Absolutely Nothing - Edwin Starr

Thank you friend. Hope you win every way you in
I can't wait for 1984. A good old inescapable universal pit of despair is all I really need to feel better about my questionable decisions and chronic substance abuse.

I've swatted many a cockroach. No more than two have identified themselves as Kafka.
