Poem Writing Exercise

A short article of how to expand poem writing technique

I love words, how they are defined and the flow of them. I came up with this exercise a few years back.

When the mood strikes, look up a few words in a dictionary without seeking a complete idea. As you page through it, when one strikes you check out the definition.

When you do you will encounter other words within the definition itself; looking those up you can find a theme in the connect which you can use in a concept for a poem.

It's fun and I've found it to be a great vocabulary builder.

I used to do that all of the time with my dictionary :) now I read dictionary.com or Websters... I thought i was the only nerd to do that good to know I'm not the only weirdo out there!
