Down in flames

Down in flames

A Poem by betheleaf

Devoured kindle cracks in the heat
Fissure fitted quite middle
Think you can hide under that thin sheet?
Oh tunes will tarry not any longer by fiddle
And try to resist yet you just postpone
Pressure builds up until glass is cracked
A headache so loud you try not to moan
By gee golly here you come packed

Oh and how the engine blows and the steams slithers out and the desparte engine bellows for justice and the hammer connects to glass and the shards come in but you don't feel the pain-yet- and lungs shrivel from a burst of overuse after having been dormant for decades and nails rip off skin cells and leave deep marks and you fire the fist up for one finally fury punch but as you connect you feel again and the muscles massively migrate less tensely till they tip towards the slack scale so sorrowfilled they soundly sink lower down.

And now you feel.
Feel the fragments of glass throb with each passing heartbeat
Feel the past the present wake of destruction once aquired
Feel the slump of the shamed in the moment of heat
Feel the soft thud of feet also heard by people you once inspired
Feel the regret silently slam onto your chest
As This moments emotion escapes from your stress
