Everything I dont wanna be.

Everything I dont wanna be.

A Poem by Beth Wilcox

Imperfection is my enemy.

I am everything I don't want to be.

Don't you see?

I hate being me.

The blue eyes that listen to everyone's lies.

The ears that hear everyone's cries.

The skin that feels every single tear.

I want to be perfect, but its my worst fear.

I look in the mirror and I hate what I see.

I am everything I don't want to be.

Have you read William Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience? This poem and "She's Me" use sort of the same technique. Nice =)

Oh my gosh. I love this poem. I know what you mean. I remember being a little girl and promising myself I'd never turn into the person I have become.

Wow, this is deep. So much said in so little words. So many people feel this way, you would never even know. Anyways, great job and thanks for sharing.

Wow, sometimes we all need to step back and re-evaluate our lives, and when we see what we don't like then it's time to take the steps to change who and what we have become....this goes much deeper that not liking our outer appearance and dwell within the outlook of our personality, our hearts, our mind set,

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.....most of our day to day inner conflict is a mind set...and we renew our minds by what we put into our minds and they type of lifestyle we live...this write is a very good write....thanks for sharing...
