The treasure I found but couldn't keep

The treasure I found but couldn't keep

A Poem by blueblocks
"

A love I couldn't get but wanted. Infatuation. Yes, infatuation now that I think about it.

"

I feared the great unknown.
Kept to myself, kept my heart to bleed.
A feeling I kept, but had to feed.
The hunger grew but all the tears I shed.
Before you, I lived isolated.
I knew no light and never wanted.
The curtain tore and a ray of sunlight sneaked
through.
I saw the beauty and never wanted to let go.
Though it could never be truly mine, I knew I
had to keep dear to heart.
One can never know how much he means to someone.
The heart can ache but I'll never live in vain.
The thoughts and feelings are true, as I'll
always love you.
Look in the mirror and I hope you see what I
see. To tell you why I adore you would only be
lies.
Because even though I yearn for you, I'll never truly
know why I do.
Days will pass, the sun will set. Things will renew, others will end.
But what will last are the true feelings I have for
you.
I declare my feelings not to say come to me but for
you to know that I see you.
On this day of hearts and flowers, I hope you will finally see me.
