Third time without the charm

Third time without the charm

A Poem by Brian F. Lockard
"

A poem about moving on

"
I've let her go twice already
the ripples have settled
into horrid clarity
it's all been tried
it's all been given
a deep breath
a hard swallow
leaving the last drop
for the dial tone
then tasting the afterbirth
of this new existence
struggling to find my feet
without her
I find myself lighter on them
and also terribly
relieved

Sometimes life's lessons need to be repeated. Hopefully, after time two, they are learned.
