The tragedy of the youthful poet

The tragedy of the youthful poet

A Poem by The Elder Pine

Whispering to a faceless nothing
A figment of a fragment
Forgotten and forsaken
Time and thyme again
An entity to scoff at

A mere man-who bleeds?
Jets of jettisoned mastery
The mystique of a summer’s night
The ballad of the battle-a tragedy
Or freedom of the winds

Lost in the din
Drowned by the vein
The bickering of the elderly
Choosing to close their scenes
Sacrificing this lamb
For his syllables
Wring “Irrelevant”

Youth does not render the young irrelevent. The young more than some are masters of the untendered truth. The humble are humbled by the wisdom of lesser years.
