A Kiss on the Apocalypse

A Kiss on the Apocalypse

A Poem by Passerby G.I.

A Kiss on the Apocalypse

I never wanted the sun to stay asleep
More then that last night you spent with me
I was like a child on Christmas eve
Knowing I was going to have to leave
My eyes wouldn't stay closed
Kept glancing at my next day's clothes
Then holding on to you to savor what I can
Leaving my kiss upon your hand

A kiss on the apocalypse
A goodbye so literal
The words tearing down our acropolis
Our last touch so critical

Stretching out an hour is so hard to do
When the time is so precious, my time with you
I was like a child, playing outside
The sun going down... wanting one more turn to hide
Away with you in the feeling we only know
To that place where no one else will ever get to go
And holding on to savor what we're about to have
The best kiss we ever had

A kiss on the apocalypse
And a goodbye so literal
The words tearing down our acropolis
Our last touch so critical
Please don't take too long
You say to me
Don't take long, don't take your time
To let me know that your life is just as empty
Without me... like mine for you
I love you too
One kiss... with our parting lips
This goodbye's not forever
These words can't tarnish this
The memory of our touch... will keep us together
