She (My friend, My deity)

She (My friend, My deity)

A Poem by Billy Van
"

A special poem written for a special friend.

"

She walks in shadows

Opposite the light.

When the sun goes down

She becomes the night.

I think of her;

She slowly passes.

Essence of sweet scents

Fills the masses.

By day we live our lives

In the wisdom of our sight.

When darkness falls

We become the night.

She thinks of me;

I don’t know why she does.

Maybe it’s because

Her eyes fill with lust.

Tears are falling;

Love is calling.

Stakes are driven deep

Into the fibers of our hearts.

One by one

We become one,

To live forever in the night

And evade the sun.

My friend,

My deity;

I’ll follow her

Wherever she may go.

I'm certainly not qualified to rate your poetic skilled. all I can say is that I like this poem. I like the shortness of the lines and the longing they convey.

Thank you.
C'mon people. I need a review. Anything . . . as long as it's kind, lol. Jk, say whatever you want to say about it. All I ask is that you're honest. Compliments, criticism, it's all good. Writers have a thickskin, anyway. ;)
