Bring a Sword

Lay it down.

Organ music....

M a r c h i n g   u n t o   w a r
... wait, war?
... what am I fighting for?
--- Don't ask!
W i t h   t h e   c r o s s   o f   J e s u s
G o i n g   o n   b e f o r e
... but Jesus wasn't about war, was he?
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
--- Well, Jesus wasn't about peace!
wHAT!?

"Think not that I came to bring peace to the Earth; I came not to bring peace but a sword."
... don't you think he would bring a gun today?
--- F**k no! He would kick your a*s with a sword!
... Really?
... why would he want to kick my a*s? I don't want to fight.
--- He wants you to fight!
... for what?
--- For salvation! You need to earn it, prove your love for God!
... so that's salvation?
... In that case, you can have salvation.

... I'm laying my sword down.

Well then, you're already dead.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
