A Better Way?

A Better Way?

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Step on the journey of a different choice.

"
Show me the way of daily delight,
A morning of wonder and peace at night.

The clock on the wall has no power on high,
As it ticks away time, there's no question of why.

"Impostor!" One cries, as she coddles her babe,
"Absurd!" Says the man on his march to invade,
"A day is for seizing," they proclaim with some force,
"Observe our struggle, no slackness endorse."

In mind and in heart, all strive to be free,
Competition surrounds us while we fight in degree,
For what we become depends only on choice,
And who's heard in the storm but a powerful voice?

Yes, all this is true and rightfully so,
For we live but a moment and then we must go.

Of seeming importance is the battle that rages,
While the still quiet voices are alone with our sages.

We live and we strive though lacking of little,
Goals slowly but surely our tally to whittle.

The day and it's season offers a single employ,
Is it selfish ambition to want to enjoy?

I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
