A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Power into the world, again.

"
Your genes combined in such a way,
to give some hope for future's day,
when you are gone this one will stay,
this horn of strength your efforts fray.

Some stolen time to form a mind,
and of a purpose to which to bind,
to carry ahead in toil and kind,
     memory protected in characters rind.

A man or woman still the same,
but difference often takes the blame,
     as one destroys another's frame,
from which a wild world is tame.

A head above the moments voice,
eyes fixed upon the futures choice,
the flames of scorn today rejoice,
as ash returns to balanced poise.

Sit down and ask what lies ahead,
when you are gone and your story dead,
take rest upon the void's soft bed,
     let someone else strive instead.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
