Space Rock

Space Rock

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

A chip off the ol' block.

"
I am the traveler,
Hurtling like a rock through space,
Motivated by an unknown force,
Which was given at my beginning,
When I left the place of my making,
Blasted off into the unknown,
For a temporary journey to nowhere,
My rotation was not of my choosing,
My direction is one limited by the infinite,
A journey that required only one direction,
Where I would experience
     all that surrounded me,
as I rotated about my axis I saw it all,
Where I would experience
     all that touched me,
as erosion slowly shaped me I felt it all,
Where I would experience
all that I could hope for,
as I discovered a potential I knew all along,
As time passed I would leave my mark,
In swirling eddies my memories stayed behind,
In the ripples of my wake was my path,
Expanding outward and carrying my life,
Time into space,
My time into your space.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
