A sun behind the haze is true,
The air so thick, so warm, so blue,
A place like this puts joy in mind,
Where kindness lives a step behind,
To linger long where friends abide,
To sing, to dance, to laugh, to cry,
Together with a multitude,
Making due with daily food,
But not alone and not with care,
Each with enough always to share,
A place like this makes some suppose,
The will to live in grand repose,
Is a right bestowed by God,
So to serve a foot is shod,
A willing heart, an open mind,
Like each to give to each its kind,
A gift is from a willing heart,
A day is marked now by its start,
Of which the clock will dominate,
Taking all which cannot wait,
Grabbing life with two strong hands,
Laying claim to falling sands.
