Through the Reed

Through the Reed

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Music is Poetry in motion.

"
Taken from within the thin veil,
That which is hung as a standard on high,
That which tickles the low and downtrodden,
That which also travels with the feather,
That thin veil whereby life is separated,
from the eternal void of noise,
     without rhythm, without tone,
     only the intonation, the attack,
the swift run over the walls,
over the mountains as over hills,
     reaching all the while behind,
behind the veil to search for meaning,
to search for justice, for forgiveness,
     for lovingkindness, for purpose,
for out of nothing there became purpose,
     purpose written on our hearts,
only to be written on the page,
As vapor is a veil, as purpose is a veil,
weightless and worthy of both sides,
     worthy of what was taken,
     but it was still taken,
     taken through the reed,
     taken into itself,
     as a song,
     as pain.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
