The Poet Mourns his Love from the Other Side of the Veil

The Poet Mourns his Love from the Other Side of the Veil

A Poem by Bipolarbear.979

A single flame sheds light into the room
The candle, lit in memory,
Slowly sheds its waxy tears.
The cold seeps through the room
Battling the lonely flame
To chill the poet's heart.
The incense burns lowly down
its smoke dawdles up
Making the poet reflect upon life.
His choices, good and bad,
Weigh heavily upon his heart
As he honors his fallen love.
Wearing the white of mourning,
He prays for her three-part soul
And feels her presence with him.
Guanyin smiles down upon the poet
To touch his wretched heart
and help him find happiness again.
The incense fills the room
And the candle still burns
Slowly, the poet dries his tears to smile.
