More than me

More than me

A Poem by blackbelief

In brief flashes of  white sands
where you wait for me,
I lost a breath or two,
remembering where I left you.
Moments come uninvited and are gone far too soon,
leaving behind embers where a bright fire once stood.

All I see are visions of what was supposed to be;
In this death, enough to suffocate me.
Once again I dreamed of you,
dying in my absence.
My being was shaken awake.
What is the purpose of life in death?

As I walk seeking embers of a fading fire,
your visions will guide me.
I shall dream again of a rekindled flame;
on the white sands, where I am you, more than me.
