Dark shadows

Let no tears of joy flow from my eyes

Let the day never shine upon my face

Listen and you will not hear any lies

In the darkness you shall leave no trace

Let no smiles dawn upon my lips

Let no sorrows drown without laughter

Drift down the river of death upon ships

Find the prince amongst the slaughter

Let no pure blood quench my thirst

Let no pleasure release me from my pain

For you will see that you are not the first

To try and follow down the path of strain

Let no bliss fall upon my wanting ears

Let no grace find me in green meadows

I have found my pleasure in others tears

For I am to  walk forever in dark shadows
