Thin Line

Thin Line

A Poem by Belle

One has a comely face

The other is an evil

They say

But, why I feel

They are the same

Extreme

Distressing

Makes me

A fool

Now, I do not know

The difference

This Thin Line of a comely face and an evil one are two opposite things greatly chosen by the writer. Two opposite forces that may be undistinguished because of their difference yet similar in the depth of their nature. This two opposite faces can be associated by the reader depending on their great experiences in life.

People around us might judge it as two different things as described in he poem as "comely face and evil one" for most people give their side comments based on what they have seen. However, these two things might be viewed differently when experienced such when the poetic persona said that "why I feel they are the same".

The third stanza states that they are "extreme, distressing and makes me a fool". The emotion that is being reflected here are too simple that there is no need for further explanation but makes the reader feel how deep this two things are and how it disturbs a person inside.

There is no need to analyze it because the more we delve on its differences, the more that we can be blinded by it for thin line separates it.

I love this poem of yours.....

I will just keep this two ideas separated by just a thin line in me. I hope other readers will be able to discover what is it.

keep inspiring people Belle.

just being honest :-) Something big awaits you.... and you are closer to it than before...
We walked and cross it so many times over at the drop of a hat . You picked the right word for the title . Thin Line compares two extreme opposite thing . And we strive hard to find the balance . Thanks for sharing Belle .

Belle another riddle style type of writing here which is very typical of your taste . Your approach always eengages with your audience and reader and provokes a response . You are once again showing your true genius mind here . So very few lines but deep as the Marianas Trench . I wont be able to answer this with just my own low handed card and simple mind . But with God's help I can . Belle your first paragraph Youre talking about two nature here . One is good and one is evil or bad . You feel they are the same in your second paragraph because they are not two separate being . Two separate psyche . The third paragraph you gave us avery subtle hint and clue . When we are calm and compose we can look and appear good but when. we are in not so good mood or upset . It brings the worst in us . We do act and behave like afool . The last and fourth paragraph is really a question of what and why . The answer to this brilliant question is MAN . . Two opposite psyche and attributes inside aperson . Man due to his fallen nature is capable of both . By nature and by choice .

there is a fine line between many things in life...and there is so much gray area.....things are seldom black and white like many people want to make them out to be.

The difference between hope and despair... is it a thin line? truly?
I've always thought of these things like the shoreline - the ebb and flow of the tides, breaking on the sands.
There is no line between them - just constantly shifting boundaries... a line in the sand that fades as the water washes over it.
Nothing distinct. Nothing clear. Like someone walking along the shore, without paying attention, gazing into the distance.
Before long, they realize how deeply they've waded into the ocean... or perhaps, how the ocean has risen to embrace them.
But which is hope, and which is despair?
And what happens when they feel so similar?
What then, I wonder?

A thought-provoking poem (obviously :)) Well done!

The difference is a thin line isn't it?
You certainly did something right and that's to make the reader think and I applaud you in that way
