Too good to be true

Too good to be true

A Poem by Rosemary
"

This is a poem I wrote about thinking you found the one, then turns out not to be because of certain circumstances.

"

That's what you were,

but it wasn't your fault.

It was out of our hands

a long time ago.

Sometimes it killed me

to know that every

smile and twinkle

of your eyes

could make the darkest

of days seem

like sunshine.

But I know better now.

I wasn't meant to bring

you the happiness you

truly deserved.

I will still take

your hand for the

last dance.

I will still sit

with you to watch

the sunset.

But I can never be

with you because

you were too good

to be true.

This is another poem I wrote in my younger days, so constructive criticism would be nice.

This is heartfelt for its youth and innocence.
Ah, the expectations we place on others - seeing them in a far better way than they can ever live up to...
`But I know better now.` - and doesn't this feel like a scar!
something very touching about this...
nice - thanks for this
