Not so Knight in shining armor

Not so Knight in shining armor

A Poem by blakechristine

its kind of ironic how this whole thing works.
you think you don't need someone and then when you least expect it they appear sweeping out of the mist.
that what he did and oh boy he was my knight in shining armor; except his armor wasn't all that shiny, looking back it was actually quite dull, lackluster if I may say so myself. But still he was interested in me and I let him sweep me off my feet. I fell hard and quick. It wasn't until it was too late did I realize he wasn't there to catch me... he let me slip, pushed me even. I found myself tumbling down alone with my heart propped right there on my shoulder.
and then in the end of it all I landed bruised and scarred..
and my knight lost in the darkness of midnight.

The most beautiful people are the ones who have the ability to love so deep yet we are the ones who end up so hurt. But there is beauty in pain, like the poetry we can create from it! Reminds me of earlier poems I've also written (a lot) about being in love but not loved in return! Keep writing, it helps 👍🏻
