Soul?

Soul?

A Poem by BlakeL79

Karmic discord, signs of the moon,
Terms of fate, there is no swoon.

I don’t believe, I don’t believe, I don’t believe.

A lord, a savior, a fall from grace.
Reincarnate in another place.

I don’t believe, I don’t believe, I don’t believe.

Fairy tales and children’s lies,
teach us things we wish to hide.

I don’t believe, I don’t believe, I don’t believe.

A soul for heaven, or straight to the ground.
Hades, Paradise, lost and found.

I don’t believe, I don’t believe, I don’t believe.

If I am right, must you be wrong?
Perhaps agreement makes us strong.

I don’t believe, I don’t believe, I don’t believe.

Yet here I sit, my soul and me,
Contemplating eternity.

I do believe in more than me.

What immediately caught my attention was the question mark in the title.
I really like the repetition of the "I don't believe, I don't believe, I don't believe", like the speaker is trying to convince himself of it, when, at the end he says,

"Yet here I sit, my soul and me,
Contemplating eternity.
I do believe in more than me."

An effective journey through a mind's contemplation....good write!
