WOMAN OF VENUS

WOMAN OF VENUS

A Poem by Bhumika Rao
"

An ode to women from around the world!

"
I heard i've come from Venus
as a guardian of precious jewels
One-that satisfies the greed of the insatiated
Other-that quenches the thirst of the lecherous

A woman, as the universe acknowledges me
sits alone behind the curtains of a dark room
'No evidence,no purpose of my existence?'
A thought subverted 'til the very day of doom

"Am I the dream of a suitor...
Or the boon of a mediator?
Maybe I should serve myself as feast...
to those greedy, menacing beasts?"

Alone I wonder....
Alone I suffer
Alone I cry

In the final hour of grief
hoping for a second of cheer
I pray; take me to my haven
where I'm the woman of Venus
Take me to my paradise
Where my heart resides
