Reunion

Reunion

A Poem by Pablo
"

Poetic exploration of the pain / joy of twins/siblings separated ...then reunited decades later.

"

Score breathless moments
my eyes sift through a swarm
of unfamiliar faces,
hopeful rays cast;
a long-awaited union
simmering on the cusp of fruition.

Juveniles on the run
from homes shattered
to toxic shards;
nomads scarred recondite
yearning for a comfort zone;
twins fraternal
torn by the callous hand of iniquity.

Yet we survive,
our bond wound tighter
by the tedium of time and tragic circumstance.

She smiles
and my world twirls
a pirouette of pleasure,
pure and unceasing.

We embrace
under a fountain of tears
as words hang dry in our throats…

We would wear them later.

I really like the first stanza and the last line. I think they do a good job of opening and closing.

About
I just realized that life's gray, not black and white; that's why I write or at least try to, from every perspective: banal, ugly, abstract, wrenching, nostalgic, euphoric, superficial, simple, comple.. more..
