Climate Changes

Climate Changes

A Poem by MelLM

If I could tell you of the beauty you are
If I could ever relay my gratitude
If I could ever find my true voice around you
If you ever knew what I've been thinking

Of course, this is false.
You know my thoughts
I share them with you.
Just you.

You know of my fears
Just as I know of yours,
You know how I truly fear
The brunt of a storm.

I can be a storm-no.
I would be the storm
If I ever tried to tell you how much I truly care;
How much I truly appreciate you.
How much I am going to miss you.

My voice would be the flurry
Hushed with excitement and terror.
My breathing would be the gale as is it is thrown from the ocean.
My tears would flood my nervous smile,
And my voice would quiver as if I was the mighty earthquake determining our fates.

Someday I could be the storm.
I could destroy or create,
But I am just a light breeze
Waiting for your gust of approval
That I fear I will never get.
