Little Lie

Little Lie

A Poem by MelLM

Your lie strikes me across the face
Just like my daddy used to do.
It's useless, really
Because I already knew.
The truth was not hard to find,
I have connections, you see.
There was no point in lying to me.

To bring my hopes afloat
Like a buoy in the sea of thought
Was a very cruel act indeed.
If fact, it just pushed you away from me.
