Michigan

A Poem by blueeyeddevel
"

The place i was born, and haven't seen for a few years now. I live in Florida at the moment.

"

Michigan Sleeps soundly tonight, as my mind dose not.

The past fall’s shared in the growth of my life

The cold that whipped my lungs into a frenzy

The hollowed out empty sky that let the stars shine through with pride

The history of yesterday’s shine in the gleam of people’s eyes

The shaken grounds still sturdy and strong

The fears of not knowing come to knowing and pass

The first place my lungs greeted the world

The last place I would love a changing life

The times fallen off the tree’s leaf

The smells of everything coming together and then departing

The place where you took your first breath.. how nice:) I love it here and couldn't imagine living without my four seasons and yet I admit I retreat south to my nieces for a couple of weeks of gathered warmth in the winter. :) This is a great write..xx
