Afternoon

Afternoon

A Poem by Eduardo Bautista

The rays of the setting sun relieved

the coldness of the coming night,

and the breeze that poured right from

the windows of the room smelled as though

it carried the joy of the whole world

it passed by.

“It’s been a beautiful day,” I whispered

as I looked through the windows.

The warm creature beside me stared

through the dullness in my eyes and said,

“I know.”

Very visual and relaxing. I like that. The mystery of the 'creature' is a great compliment. It doesn't matter who it is, how they know you, of if they love you. What only matters is that they are there to share that moment with you. I got that from this poem and can't wait for more! Keep 'em comin'! Cheers!
