Anthem For The Mentally Vacant

Anthem For The Mentally Vacant

A Poem by Blue Jacc
"

For the hopeless, day dreamers and the mentally vacant

"
I was told that my head was worth more than my wallet
I was told that my thoughts would change the world
I was told that I was destined for the great life
I was told I'd make it... whatever that means

I was young then, I was naive
I was inexperienced then, I was gullible
But I'm hopeful now, I've seen the world
But I'm hopeful now, I now what I'm capable of

I'm mentally vacant, mind surfing away
Swerving through the If's and but's in our world
Making the most of my stay in this planet
Fading in and out of reality...  whatever that means

I've come to know my mind as it is, plain and regular
There's plenty like it, but this one's mine
I can do with it as I please, I'm a master of nothing
The imaginary and the real slowly become one

This is my anthem, this is my song
My mind up my sleeves, but I play the game cool
Self-control has made me one with the possibilities of things to be
And over-analysis has made an insecure, confident prick
