Lulla-good-bye

Lulla-good-bye

A Poem by bmadnon8
"

I was in the hospital with her for the night. Together we shared the worst night of our lives.

"
I beg and plead
"God, why not me?"
As I think of what I've seen.
I remember the time I spent with you.
Thinking "baby girl, what can I do?"
All I wanted was to see you calm
So I turned on your toy
And it played you a song.
A tune that lulled you off to sleep.
A sleep I wish was not so deep.
The doctors tried to wake you.
Oh memory, I cannot erase you.
You've bruised and battered me since the beginning.
But this scar is the deepest,
And will not soon be healing.
