Cambien

Cambien

A Poem by Debbie

Cambien

I am sleeping

Tendering the hours,

clasping night as if I were an infant needing its sustenance

I have no patience for the web of words you weave

They are words

Breathe here, vowels drifting into some semblance of meaning

Pick a language, find a definition

I care less for these borders you seek out

I am that interloper

That transgressor

who erases the three part document

requiring the notary witness

I will be only myself

And that changes I do admit

I will not give you an easy passage

Your ticket has not been paid here

Y tambien

There is no change made here

Bring what you can

Be who you will

And for now, yes

I shall accept that

Loose

My heart stops its

Beating

Hardly exchanging

Movement

Has its own expense

I am charged with such extravagance

Having yet hardly moved….
tiempo

Do you feel the way the wind carves its ownership

Regardless of season

I belong

Mind and body

Somewhere else

The Corazon is pierced

And made a cut out doll to stick

Needles into
