NINETEEN

NINETEEN

A Poem by Victoria Cleveland
"

happy birthday to my first love. 09/06/2015

"
Newly formed chain of constant smoking is guesswork
I wonder if you're inhaling everything in or trying to breathe it out
Naked into existence, all those 6939 days ago, grew a lion heart
Expecting and imagining late nights of pushed aside cereal bowls and spoken aloud dreams
Time is those mentioned dreams and small minute length sexual attractions; never lasting too long
Each day I dream for you, for you to breathe me in, along side your ambitions, beside empty bowls and fearful words
hoping
Eventually you'll feel egg shaped leather hit hard against your callused hands
Never forgetting that a lion's blood is worth more than its fur
