This WorldA Poem by Bookburner09automatic poem written in short bursts following thought bubblesWhen this world, Offers up a solution, To the pain and suffering, Dismiss the response, Bury beneath contempt. As I attempt, To come to terms, With hatred and the misguided thoughts, Who misbelieve in their right to, Voice an biased opinion. Through gritted teeth, And the unshaken belief, As I struggled with, The concept of love, Amid the disillusionment. Immune to the pain, I bear the scars all the same, Behind the TV lens, Taste the contempt, Flickering through. The channels of controversy, As we stand against, Those who stand before us, Spouting their bigoted hatred, To easily led fools. Neil Longley 2016
