What Do you Do?

What do you do

when darkness surrounds you,

light forsakes you,

and hope abandons you?

What do you do

when you close your eyes,

so you don't have to see?

when the world betrays you,

and you no longer believe?

what do you do

when you cry in silence,

because no one wants to hear

or simply because,

theres no one there?

what do you do

when you know it's the end,

but you cannot remember

if it ever began?

what do you do

when your pain goes unnoticed,

your screams go unheard,

and it builds up inside you

til you want to explode?

what do you do when shadows haunt you

and you shattered dreams taunt you?

what do you do when you want to cry

but you find your eyes have run dry?

what do you do

when you feel so alone,

you look for the words,

but find there are none?

Straightforward but really good. And I find this poem depressing. It's like you want the readers to say "Stop it! That won't happen!" as they read your poem. And that's what I liked about this poem. Thank you for sharing. Good job. ;)
