Friend

Friend

A Poem by Beissan

It is not that I don’t understand

Not that I fear what you may say

Not that I don’t like you

But that I calculate your every move

Weigh the odds of fakery

And calculate the proportions of mockery

I fear you not, friend

Yet I follow your every move

I agree when you do

And disagree when you agree not

What power do you possess

That makes me so obsessed

With this friendship

Why is it that

When you see my face

You don’t run away

Is that judgement in your eyes

Disapproval? Or hate?

I pray tell

What do you think

Of me, friend?

I fear you not, friend

Yet you are always in my head

You reactions have become mine

You thoughts I selfishly share

I am afraid, friend

That we are not friends

But that I cling to you so

And call you friend

Why, Thank you! :D
Really well written! You stopped capitalizing the first words of each of the verses about half way through and started again so go through it and capitalize all the one that aren't.
