Shacharit

Shacharit

A Poem by benp
"

The name for the morning service said by millions of Jews everyday is broken down to each letter, which is given a statement that applies to the service.

"

Shoes, freshly polished, enter the Sanctuary

Hats are taken off and placed on a rack

A young boy runs wildly with his friends

Chanting of preparation prayers begin

Halleluiah prayers are sung with great joy

A pair of tefillin is given to the guest who has none

Rigid stances are taken during the reader’s repetition of the Amidah

Individual prayers are added at certain points

Tallit are properly folded and placed in decorated bags.
