Why Must we all be so Alone

Why Must we all be so Alone

A Poem by Brad Rancourt
"

This is a commentary on a very popular theme I see in people's writing, people feel alone and feel like no one cares.

"

Read all about it

It’s there if you try hard to find it

Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

They all say it

“We feel so alone and no one cares to hear it.”

Teenagers are crying, begging for attention

For people to notice a pain they have created

They hide and they smile, pretending they're alright

But what is really the cause of this strife?

Social media

Now when we feel weak and defeated

We no longer turn to our family to heal it

We post it, publish it, click it and like it

“Don’t know who loves me anymore, think I should quit.”

Then they wait and they wait for comments and likes

If none of them come then they feel hopeless inside.

“I posted a video, please comment and subscribe.”

No gratification will come if not enough people will buy

We have turned from our families and search for peace on social media

Nobody needs to know how I struggle inside

Has long has I can get a thousand likes, I feel better inside.

Why don’t we share?

Maybe someone will care.

Why don’t we talk instead of bottling it up?

You’d be surprise the people who will listen

If we all feel alone then do we not share a common goal?

Why don’t people see?

We are never alone.
