With Pride and Love

With Pride and Love

A Poem by Brenda Alicia

I've done it again.
As per usual, I'm in over my head.
Nonsensical thoughts erode my inner workings;
The solution that always ends up hurting.
Stuck in a daze;
I'll prepare myself the next day.
That's what daddy used to say.
It crawls through my skin;
I can hardly believe it;
I tend to say things with such wit.
Take it with a grain of salt.
Pick my sentences apart;
Chances are, I'll still break your heart.
