Percieving "Reality"

Percieving "Reality"

A Poem by Kyle Breutigam

Desires swirl throughout my thoughts,

There’s one more thing to do before I leave.

Every word you speak is muted in silence,

Your gentle voice won’t make a difference.

My attention is focused on… shall we say more forbidden things.

In your silence I part my lips,

I pride myself on being heretical, but not tonight

Tonight my grammar fails me,

A slur of incoherent babble.

Your face holds so much sympathy.

Don’t pity me!

I know the truth, I am free!

Roses cover your bed of glass, deceitful are you not?

Hiding all your pain with pleasure.

Let go of all you know,

Severe all ties to the world.

Life is all a hallucination

We’re all just lucid dreaming.

This is a very intriguing poem that can relate to almost anything. The more I read it, the more I get out of it. It lures you into his world and makes you wonder. Good job!!
