Horror Unknown

Horror Unknown

A Poem by Brian M. Peeples

Interesting, it seems, that a world

Where darkness lurks down under

Can show such beauty and benevolence

A sense of kindness and hope,

That which can be torn away so quick

Yet appear falsely before one’s heart

But be quick to avoid such a swift dart

For it may strike you down, unfortunately

And it may press against all your burdens

But to be kind, the experience is like none other

But to not, it can tear away one’s happiness

What is this feeling, this unforgivable passion?

Diverse emotions, touching and warming

But also very cold and distant, so frightful

A sense of worry and fear, hate and anger

Leading to the corruption of many lost souls

And changing many lives from vivid to dull

But on such a dreary day, we may see

That it is possible to live without such pain

If only we could gaze into the heart of the rain

And forever, in this world, truly be happy

But happy endings don’t always come so easily

Never did, nor ever will in this fleeting lifetime

But I fear for you, that it may soon be time

To enter the realm of darkness, always alone

And into the dark depths of the horror unknown
