My Last Request

My Last Request

A Poem by Arriam
"

I hope that this will make it to its intended. I hope against it as well. I've got a lot of useless hope left. Inspired by "Closure" by Teeya.

"
All I can ask
Is that you don't rebuild the walls you once let tower so high around you.
That you let them stay battered down,
However excruciating it may be.
Because you are truly someone extraordinary.
Even if I cannot be the one to behold that,
Someone else will.
In the long run,
Stay your beautiful self.
And, someday, someone who loves you will be thankful.

You just have to keep trying, when you're too weary. Thank you very much!

So refreshing from the "if I can't have you, then no one else will". Nicely expressed Arram. People who have been hurt often build protective walls to shelter behind.

That "no one else can have you" approach doesn't seem like love to me. Thank you very much for stopp.. read more
Well, that's a very benevolent perspective you have expressed in this poem. I tend to vacillate between myriad points of view, therefore, I think this is coming from a good place.

Deeply personal.

I can think of someone in my life who could have written it.

Thought provoking and emotional write.

Best,
M.
