Peals of laughter split the hallways
Filled with giggles and shrieks
obsessing over another trend
They'll forget in a week.
There's gotta be something more than this.

All cut from the same cloth
To fit the status quo
Formed from the same teenage mold
With no mind of their own.
There's gotta be something more than this.

First and foremost on their minds:
"Did you get my text?!"
"I heard they broke up!"
"I wonder who he'll date next?!"
There's GOTTA be something more than this!

Hollow as a puddle
With the depth of a spoon
I'm just so shocked and muddled
By the shallow life they choose.
Am I the only one
who wants something more than this?
