where childhood ends.

where childhood ends.

A Poem by princess sarcasm
"

growing up is a s****y thing.

"
it ends when you trade braids and bows for b***s and bras.
when the teddy bear you used to clutch to your chest late at night becomes your phone.
child hood ends when the light that use to shine so bright within you has dulled and no longer shines through your eyes.
it ends when you trade spongebob and Patrick for short skirts and lipstick.
when you realize the monsters that hid in your closet and under your bed are your own demons.

You articulated the transition from child to grown-up quite effectively. The sad loss of things that had so much value at one time, traded for things that are in some sense trivial but take on a great importance in a grown up life. A chilling and honest final line too. Excellent!
