fireside thoughts.

fireside thoughts.

A Poem by Britt Foster

the crackling flames
of the campfire,
spitting ashes
into the watchful sky
and breathing their warmth
into my chilled bones.
thoughtful expressions,
mesmerized
by the fire,
keep company, quiet,
with music whispering
its cheerful beats
from the car.
i think, then,
about the girl
lying tired inside
 the truckbed,
and i smile.

Oh snap! I have no criticism...and heck, now I'm thinking about her too! Great job!
