Three Inches from the Stars.

Three Inches from the Stars.

A Poem by Britt Foster
"

A poem.

"
My heart's 3 inches from the stars,
soaring, but off track.
The space between two separate points,
the line between is getting slack.
3 feet away from warmth and love --
200 miles, the gap.
The route to take has lost its way,
the heart has lost its map.
Tied up in truth and honesty
but tempted by distrust,
3 feet to touch electric skin,
3 feet give in to lust.
The line between two separate points
is veering off its track,
my heart's 3 inches from the stars,
it's never coming back.

Very good. It has a really nice flow. I liked it so much that I read it twice.
