A VERY rough draft, looking for comments, critique, ideas, anything(: written in a coffee shop in about 10 minutes

To Have A Poet's Mind

To have a poet's eyes

is to see a phone's green light flashing

and to realize someone cares,

someone wants to reach out

To have a poet's ears

is to listen to someone's stories in a coffee shop

and to paint a mental image of their perspective

walking through each stroke with them

To have a poet's heart

is to feel the coolness of a dark room pulsing through your skin

and to count your beats in rhythm with music's bass

finding something consistent to belong to and keep time.

A beautiful piece describing the journey of being a writer. Any feedback I would have to give is every sentence that starts with "to have a poets..." You can put a space after each four sentences, so then it would seem the stanzas are more separated. That way, it would be easier for the reader to interpret the poem and it would have a simple flow. But other than that, you wrote some inspiring words! Keep up the good work.
