Lipstick Stained Coffee Mug

Lipstick Stained Coffee Mug

A Poem by Brittney Oliver

She wakes up as dreary as the weather

With her hair pulled back

And last night’s make-up still on

She stares out the window looking for a purpose

A reason to keep moving forward

Something that will make her feel alive again

A tear rolls down her cheek

As she remembers what life used to be

When she was happy and not so lonely

She sips her morning coffee

Swallowing the ever constant lump in her throat

Leaving her mark on the rim one last time

About
I am misunderstood by most of the people in my life. I have never really been able to express my feelings and thoughts without being shut down so I turned to writing. more..
