Glass Child

Glass Child

A Poem by Patricia B. Hepler

What do they see when they look at me

Why do they scream and shout

Is it because they don't like me

What is their drama about?

What do I see when I look at me

I can't see why they scream and shout

Is it because they don't like me

What is their drama about?

I see a little kid who was clear as glass

One who tried to be very good

I see me as an innocent lass

Which I believe they should.

What was their drama about?

Thank you, Eile.
I enjoyed this, Pat. People rarely, if ever, see us as we truly are inside.

Innocence is such a wonderful thing. It of course goes hand in hand with being naive. Most children wouldn't understand the "drama" of an adult. Some would even place blame on themselves from the confusion. Well written.
