Stitched

Stitched

A Poem by Patricia B. Hepler

Quilt scraps, yarn too

Pieced together

make something new

to keep forever

years from now

reminds someone

of how

things were done

I remember watching my grandmother, great grandmother, and a great aunt stitching and piecing together a quilt. Sometimes they would let me pick which square was to be placed next. It was fun listening to their conversions, too. Wish I knew what ever happened to that quilt?
Thank you for jarring a very nice memory.

Simply lovely. When things are handmade, so much more emotion and hard work are put into those items. A quilt being passed down through the generations, would tell many stories. Each sticth holds a feeling, a thought, a meaning. Another job well done. ^_^
